Griffon Marine is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Hinton, who joins the business as a Hovercraft Pilot-in-Training. Rob’s arrival comes at a pivotal time as Griffon’s order book continues to expand and their training operations experience sustained growth both here in the UK and across the world.
In his new role, Rob will work closely with Chief Pilot Ben Avery, supporting upcoming client trials and training through to the end of the year. Beginning in the new year, Rob will transfer to Hovertravel for a period of approximately six months, where he will further develop his hovercraft handling and operational skills.
Rob brings a strong maritime background to Griffon Marine. He previously worked with Red Funnel (High Speed) and has extensive experience in the towage industry through roles including training master with SERCO and regional training superintendent at Svitzer. His broad operational knowledge and hands-on experience make him an ideal addition to Griffon Marine’s expanding training division.
Ben Avery, Chief Pilot at Griffon Marine, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Rob to the team. His proven maritime expertise and professionalism will be invaluable as we continue to grow the training arm of Griffon Marine. Rob’s support on upcoming customer trials will make a real difference, and his time with Hovertravel will further enhance the skill set he brings back to the business.”
Griffon Marine is committed to developing the next generation of hovercraft pilots and strengthening its position as a global leader in hovercraft operations and training. Rob’s appointment reinforces this ambition and supports the continued delivery of high-quality training services.
