Ben Avery
Chief Pilot and Marine Operations Manager
Ben began his career at Griffon Hovercraft in 2004 as an apprentice. He later progressed to the Special Projects Team, and in 2010, he joined the Support Services department as a trials and training pilot. After gaining marine industry experience in small ferry and commercial port operations, and completing a Merchant Navy deck officer cadetship, Ben worked on large Ro-Ro ships and bulk carries before returning to Griffon Marine in 2020 as Chief Pilot. A passionate maritime enthusiast, he volunteered at the Hovercraft Museum and piloted hovercraft since 2000. With a wealth of industry experience, Ben leads the marine team, traveling globally to support both new and long-standing customers.
